If the art of Peter Paul Rubens and Picasso had offspring…..

The BioMorphs began as a study of volumes and transitions in flesh.  I was working from a live model, doing many small studies per page.  Over time, the studies overcrowded one another and began to take on their own forms.

I have been studying the reactions of other people to these drawing and have found that many have great difficulty with what they see.  It appears that their brain’s left-hemisphere has to give up its control issues and allow the creative right-hemisphere to take over.  It’s all drawn from life, from one model per page, it’s just not in a form that the left-hemisphere finds useful.  Younger people and artistic types tend to gravitate to them more rapidly.

I hope you find a place to excercise your mind in them.

Fine work, reminds me a bit of Hans Bellmer.

Thanks for the visit. Goog’d Bellmer, I see what you mean.
